EVENTS WORKING GROUP

THE PARISH COUNCIL’S Events Working Group includes local residents who have volunteered to help shape the future of community events for Haswell and Haswell Plough. On Wednesday 25th March 2026 the Parish Council approved all the proposals recommended by the Working Group for events such as attendance with Haswell Colliery Lodge banner at Durham Miners’ Gala on Saturday 11th July 2026 (140th anniversary); Summer coach trips to a variety of destinations; a Summer Carnival on Saturday 22nd August 2026 between 12 noon and 6:00 p.m. (and thereafter on the third Saturday in August each year); Halloween house competition; and this year’s Christmas event.
